Question 1

What oil for Honda PCX 125 oil change?

Accepted Answer

The Honda PCX 125 uses 10W-30 JASO MB oil (scooter-specific, lower friction for the separate centrifugal clutch drivetrain). Capacity: 0.8 L at drain. Change every 6,000 km, first at 1,000 km. Find the complete answer on L'Atelier.

Question 2

When to change the Honda PCX 125 drive belt?

Accepted Answer

Honda prescribes drive belt replacement every 24,000 km, with intermediate inspection. Replace the rollers at the same time (they wear together). Wear symptoms: jerky take-off, loss of top speed, whistling. Find the complete answer on L'Atelier.

Question 3

What tyre pressure for Honda PCX 125?

Accepted Answer

Cold pressure: front 2.00 bar, rear 2.25 bar solo (2.50 bar rear two-up). OE tyres (2021+ generation): 110/70-14 front, 130/70-13 rear. Check every two weeks — urban scooters lose pressure quickly. Find the complete answer on L'Atelier.

Question 4

Does the PCX 125 Start&Stop wear the battery?

Accepted Answer

The PCX uses an ACG starter-alternator (no conventional starter motor): restarts are silent and wear no gear. The battery is still stressed by short urban cycles — if the scooter sleeps outside in winter with sub-10-minute trips, monitor voltage and disable Start&Stop (handlebar switch) in freezing weather. Find the complete answer on L'Atelier.

Question 5

Should the PCX 125 final drive oil be changed?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it is the often-forgotten scooter maintenance item: the final reduction gearbox holds about 0.12 L of oil, to be replaced every 24,000 km. Black or metallic gear oil signals abnormal bearing wear. Find the complete answer on L'Atelier.

Question 6

Does the Honda PCX 125 depreciate?

Accepted Answer

Very little: it is the best-selling and most sought-after 125 used. A 3-year-old PCX with 15,000 km often resells for 70-75% of its new price. Check belt condition (invoice), parking drops (scratched panels) and Smart Key operation. Find the complete answer on L'Atelier.
