Rain changes everything
Reduced grip, extended braking distance, degraded visibility and multiple hazards (paint, road markings, drain covers, diesel spills). Autumn demands adapting both the motorcycle and your riding technique.
## Machine side
- Tyre pressure: stick to manufacturer values (don't under-inflate "for more grip" — that's a dangerous myth). Check pressures when cold more often.
- Tyres: a touring/sport-touring compound evacuates water better and warms up at low temperature. Check groove depth (aquaplaning is a risk on worn tyres).
- Visor: anti-fog/anti-rain treatment, and keep it clean.
- Chain and brakes: rain washes away grease and fouls discs — service more frequently.
