Wheels and Waves: the guide to Biarritz's motorcycle festival

There are trade shows, and then there is Wheels and Waves. Since 2012, this festival has transformed the Basque coast each June, around Biarritz, into a playground for motorcycle culture — but not only that: surf, skate, BMX, art and music all mix there. It's a gathering of spirit, not a convention of vendors.

What makes the festival's spirit

Wheels and Waves was born from the custom and café racer scene, and it has kept this identity. You don't come here to compare technical specs, but to live an atmosphere: custom bikes, creators, quirky races and an international community.

  • The Punk's Peak: an iconic hill climb race of the festival, in a good-natured atmosphere.
  • The partner village at the Cité de l'Océan: brands, creators, custom motorcycle exhibitions.
  • Surf, art and concerts: the festival reaches well beyond motorcycles.
  • Rides on the roads of the Basque Country, one of Europe's finest playgrounds.

Who it's for

If you love motorcycles as culture — the aesthetics, the craftsmanship, the community — more than pure performance, this is THE gathering. Fans of neo-retro, scrambler and custom builds are right at home.

  • When: every June (the 15th edition runs June 10–14, 2026).
