The French MTB XC Cup: the national reference circuit
The French MTB Cup is the national cross-country circuit that structures the season in France. Organized by the FFC (French Cycling Federation), it brings together the best French riders but remains open to licensed amateurs. It is the springboard to international competition.

The circuit typically features 6 to 8 rounds spread between March and October, on varied sites across France. Each round offers different courses: some fast and rolling, others technical and physical.

Categories
The French Cup is open to all age categories:
- Elite: pros and semi-pros (top national level)
- U23: future champions (18-22 years)
- Juniors (U19): young talents (17-18 years)
- Masters: age categories (30+, 40+, 50+)
How to register?
- You must hold an FFC license (or UCI for foreigners)
- Registration is through the FFC platform
- Fee: approximately 20-35 euros per round
- Registration typically closes 3 days before the race
What level is needed?
The French Cup welcomes varied levels. The masters and sport categories allow motivated amateurs to compete on national circuits. However, solid fitness is required:
- Training volume: 8-12h/week minimum
- Capacity: ride 1h30 at high intensity
- Technique: comfort on technical descents, root and rock sections
- Experience: a few regional races before committing
