After photos, it's the text that turns a curious browser into a buyer. A clear, honest and complete listing builds trust, filters serious buyers and avoids dozens of messages "still available?". Here's how to write it.
The title: precise and complete
The title decides the click. Put the essentials: brand, model, year, and a strong selling point (low mileage, maintenance up to date, package). "Yamaha MT-07 2021, 12,000 km, serviced" beats "nice bike for sale".
The description: structured and honest
A good description answers the questions before they're asked:
- Identity: brand, model, year, version, mileage.
- Condition and maintenance: services done, parts replaced, invoices available.
- Strengths: what adds value (accessories, new tires…).
- Flaws acknowledged: scratches, wear — honesty sells.
- Reason for sale and terms (test ride possible, papers in order).
Avoid the unreadable block: short sentences, lists, concrete details.
The price: justified by a valuation
A credible price attracts true buyers. Start with a reference valuation (same model, year, condition) rather than new price. A price too high puts the listing to sleep; too low raises suspicion.
