In a used listing, photos do 80% of the work: they trigger the click, trust, and contact. The same vehicle sells faster and at a higher price with good photos. Good news: no equipment needed, just method.
Prepare before you shoot
Clean the vehicle: a clean motorcycle or bike signals careful maintenance.
Choose a neutral, clear background (plain wall, driveway), not a messy garage behind it.
Good lighting: outdoors, in shade or overcast (avoid direct sun, which creates harsh shadows and glare).
Essential angles
Full profile from both sides (your main photo).
Three-quarters front and rear.
Odometer lit up (readable mileage = trust).
The drivetrain (chain/cassette or chainring), tires, brakes.
Details that add value (accessories, recent maintenance) — and also flaws.
Show the defects (yes, really)
Photographing defects and wear honestly builds trust and avoids endless haggling or buyers who back out. An acknowledged flaw negotiates better than a hidden flaw discovered on-site.
The mistakes that kill a listing
Blurry, dark, or backlit photos.
Only one photo, or generic photos found online.
Dirty, cluttered background that distracts from the object.
After the photos: the listing
Good photos deserve good text: see writing a listing that sells. And to set a credible price, use a reference valuation.

I'm selling my bike, how many photos and which ones?
L'Atelier
Aim for at least 6 to 8 sharp photos: both full profiles, a three-quarter front and rear, the drivetrain, tires, and a close-up of any defects. Clean the bike, put it against a neutral background, and shoot in shade or overcast to avoid glare and harsh shadows. Show wear honestly: it reassures and speeds up the sale. One blurry photo, and your listing gets skipped.
Describe your vehicle to the mechanic AI: it helps you highlight its strengths.
