Roc d'Azur: 40 years of mountain biking passion
Roc d'Azur is the largest mountain bike gathering in Europe. Created in 1984 in Fréjus, in the Var department, this event attracts over 20,000 participants and 100,000 visitors every year over four days. It is simultaneously a high-level sporting competition, a trade show and a popular celebration of cycling.
The races
Cross-country (XC)
The flagship race of Roc d'Azur: a 30 to 60 km course on the trails of the Estérel massif, with its characteristic red rocks and technical singletrack. Several categories: elite, masters, juniors and recreational. The terrain is dry and fast, perfect for XC.
Enduro
The enduro race at Roc features 3 to 5 timed stages in the hills around Fréjus. Technical descents with rocky passages and woodland sections.
E-bike
E-bike races are growing at Roc d'Azur, with dedicated events for electric mountain bikes. The format is similar to XC but adapted to the specifics of e-bikes.
Kids and discovery races
Roc d'Azur offers races for children from age 5, as well as discovery courses for beginners. The family-friendly atmosphere is one of the event's strengths.
The expo village
The Roc d'Azur expo village brings together over 300 exhibitors across several hectares. Major brands (Specialized, Trek, Giant, Orbea, Canyon) sit alongside artisans and startups.
Free test rides
This is the best reason to come to the Roc: you can test dozens of bikes for free on dedicated courses. XC, enduro, e-bike, gravel... It is the chance to try before you buy. Remember to bring your helmet and pedals.
